Tim Brown and Donna McKean are the two constants among a revolving lineup in the critically-acclaimed Bay-area, California, indiepop band Lunchbox. Forming in 1994, Lunchbox released a slew of singles and EPs, and a string of albums between 1996 and 2002 — their self-titled debut on San Francisco’s Not Happy label, “The Magic of Sound” and “Evolver” on Portland’s Magic Marker, and “Summer’s Over” on Stewart Anderson’s (Boyracer) 555 Recordings.
Burnt Palms is a surf-punk/indie pop quartet from Seasaide, California. Some people want to compare them to the sunny surf punk of Best Coast. In my mind, they’re more like some of the twee-punk girl bands from the Pacific Northwest during the early 1990s. I’m thinking of Cub and Tiger Trap. From the same era, but a different continent, the band names Heavenly as one of their major influences.
Imperfections is a Garage-Pop quartet from El Cerrito, California. Comprised of fuzzy poppy chimey dopes.
